To assign posts automatically to users in Knowledgeworker Share through category-based assignment (matching), category values must be assigned to both users and the posts to be assigned. There are different ways to assign suitable category values to users and therefore define the target group to which they belong. This article presents the five methods.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Manual assignment
Under Administration > Manage people > Edit user, use the "Categories" tab to select which category values should be assigned to the relevant user. Users receive only posts whose category values match at least one of their own values in each category. Under "Read posts", at least one value must be selected from every category; otherwise, no category-based assignment can take place.
If default category values have been specified for your Knowledgeworker Share system that all users should receive automatically, these are shown in gray and cannot be removed.

CSV user import
When users are created in your system through CSV user import, or their data is updated through CSV user import, you can specify the category values they should receive directly in the CSV import file. They are added automatically to user profiles when they are created, or updated automatically for existing users.
AD/LDAP connection
If your Knowledgeworker Share system is connected to an internal personnel management system through Active Directory or LDAP, category values can be synchronized automatically. The personnel management system must contain the appropriate data fields corresponding to the category values, such as location or position in the company. If it does, the system can be configured to assign this information automatically to the relevant users as category values.
Rules
In Knowledgeworker Share, you can use rules to run different actions automatically. You can also use them to assign selected category values automatically to people who meet certain requirements. Under Administration > Rules, create a new rule and, under "Condition", select one or more requirements that users must meet to receive new category values. Under "Action" > "Set categories", select the required category values. Depending on whether the condition requires a user action, the values are assigned either immediately or at the user's next login.

Vouchers
You can provide voucher codes to new or existing users so that they can unlock new content themselves. When they redeem a voucher code, they are enrolled in selected posts, user groups, or category values. Under Administration > Voucher management, create a new voucher and specify under "Target groups - Read" which category values users who redeem the voucher code should receive. Users can then see all posts that match those category values.

Note:
If you need a new category in your existing Knowledgeworker Share system, please contact us at any time. We will support you in assigning the new category values to all users and posts.
